With a long standing passion for coarse and predator fishing around Europe it's no surprise to find Richard Gibson doing what he does best - helping clients catch the fish of a lifetime!

When the opportunity to purchase the venue came about it was a simple decision to take and Richard, his wife Rainy and their family moved to Thailand to live out their dream.

Since 2020 they have dedicated their lives to maintaining and furthering the legacy of John Wilsons Fishery, providing guests the exclusive opportunity to visit and catch it's prestigious and abundant stock and experience memories which will last forever.
A Passion For Angling
My passion for angling began four decades ago, at the age of eight, at a small stream in Kent with my best friend and his father. From that first experience, I was hooked. We spent many school holidays wandering the banks catching roach, perch, and skimmer-bream. Then, at the age of 13, my obsession with pike and carp fishing started. It was also around this time that John Wilson became my biggest hero and role model, reading and watching as much as I could of his material. In fact my first VHS video I bought was Go Fishing, Carp and Roach Fishing, which I still have and the first autobiography I bought was his.

Little did I know then where I would be now!
In the years that followed I'm very fortunate to have been on many amazing fishing journeys. I was very fortunate to live in Ireland for 10 years where I spent significant time exploring the loughs and rivers landing many specimen sized pike and wild trout. Back in the UK I was heavily into both the carp and pike scene and I have been fortunate to catch multiple English carp to over 45lb and pike to over 30lb.

My fishing adventures eventually took me further afield in Europe where I have extensively fished for carp before in 2017 I made my first trip to Thailand where I caught many specimens just like the ones you will find in our lake when you visit. It is here that I met the beautiful Rainy who is now my wife and your expert hostess and I'm sure you'll all agree she is the best catch of them all.
